With China's participation in the WTO and the process of economic globalization, the country has become a major international production center. However, there is still a significant gap between China and global manufacturing leaders. The proportion of high-tech products remains relatively low, and the arrival of the knowledge economy has accelerated technological development. In various industries such as aviation, automotive, and petroleum, rotors are increasingly moving toward high speed, precision, automation, and intelligence.
Magnetic suspension bearings, as high-value-added mechatronic products with advanced technical content, have been successfully applied abroad in high-speed, high-precision machine tool spindles and high-speed vacuum pumps, bringing substantial economic benefits. However, their use in domestic industrial applications is still limited, and many theoretical and practical issues remain to be explored.
Based on the operating principle, magnetic suspension bearing systems can be classified into three types:
1. **Active Magnetic Suspension Bearings**: Also known as automatic magnetic suspension bearings, these use electromagnetic force that can be controlled. A sensor detects the position of the rotor, and the control system automatically adjusts to maintain suspension.
2. **Passive Magnetic Suspension Bearings**: These rely on magnets or superconductors to support the rotor with some degree of freedom, without active control.
3. **Hybrid Magnetic Suspension Bearings**: These combine electromagnets with permanent magnets or superconductors to support the rotor, offering improved stability and performance.
Currently, most research focuses on active magnetic suspension bearings, and this paper primarily studies this type. Magnetic suspension bearings work by using the magnetic force between an electromagnet and a ferromagnetic material to achieve non-contact suspension of the rotor.
The technology holds great potential for future applications and commercial value. As industries continue to evolve, the demand for more efficient and precise mechanical systems will drive further innovation in magnetic suspension technology.
