Eight years of hard work and achievements

The festive spirit of the New Year is still lingering, and the furniture industry has quickly followed with a series of exhibitions. The 15th Asian International Furniture Material Expo (AIFME), often referred to as the "industry's wind vane," will take place from March 17 to 20 at the Longjiang Asian International Furniture Material Trading Center in Shunde. Known for its influential role in shaping industry trends, AIFME has become a key event for professionals seeking the latest innovations and market insights. Under the guidance of the China Furniture Association’s Committee on Raw and Auxiliary Materials, the exhibition is sponsored by the People’s Government of Shunde District in Foshan City and the People’s Government of Longjiang Town. It is organized by Asia International and the Shunde Furniture Research and Development Institute, two major players in the furniture material sector. Since 2006, AIFME has been held biannually in March and September at the same venue, building a strong reputation over the years. Located in the heart of the "China Furniture Manufacturing Town" and "China Furniture Material Capital," it has grown into one of the most respected trade shows in the industry, widely regarded as a driver of industrial innovation and development. This year, the 15th edition of AIFME has seen a significant expansion in scale. Despite the overall shrinking trend in exhibitions across the country, AIFME continues to thrive, showcasing a vast exhibition area of 400,000 square meters spread across nine halls: A, B, C, D, D1, E, F, G, and H. Over 1,300 companies from around the world have participated, including leading brands from provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shandong, as well as international participants from Taiwan, Malaysia, and other regions. The main exhibition hall alone covers over 30,000 square meters with more than 750 booths, representing a 17% and 22% increase in space and number of booths compared to last year. This growth reinforces AIFME's position as the "global furniture material trading center" and highlights its status as Asia's top furniture materials exhibition. Soft materials have always been a central focus of AIFME, especially given Shunde's reputation as the hometown of traditional Chinese sofas. The exhibition serves as a platform for new product launches and industry updates. This year, notable highlights include high-tech mattress materials introduced by Lixing Furniture Group, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of sleep products in China. Additionally, Fangyuan Fabric, Hexing Sponge, and the 9.9 Home Furnishing Alliance are making strong appearances, emphasizing their commitment to industry standards and social responsibility. Meanwhile, silver leather and Yifang fabric combine for a fashion-forward display, while Yadao Leather makes its debut at AIFME, promising to unveil groundbreaking new products that will captivate the audience. As the furniture industry evolves, semi-finished products are gaining traction. With challenges in exporting finished furniture, the demand for semi-finished goods has surged. Many manufacturers are now investing in brand promotion and marketing. At this year’s AIFME, numerous companies will showcase innovative semi-finished products, including hand-carved wooden frames and high-quality solid wood series imported from Malaysia. Companies like Lujiang Furniture, Youxin Wooden Frame, and Yongxiang Furniture will also present their latest offerings, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of furniture manufacturing. Automation is another major trend at AIFME. With rising production costs and labor shortages, the furniture industry is increasingly turning to automated equipment. Leading manufacturers such as Guangzhou Santuo Metal Processing Machinery, Itema CNC, Foshan Weiyao Machinery, and others will be present, showcasing advanced technologies that are not only domestically developed but also internationally competitive. Taiwanese machinery brands like Baodao will also make an appearance, creating excitement about how these machines compare in performance and quality. Environmental protection is another key theme of this year’s exhibition. In response to government policies promoting low-carbon practices, AIFME has focused on the application of "three new" technologies, particularly water-based coatings. Companies like Shangke Environmental Protection Technology, Dongfang Resin, and Taiqiang Chemical will present eco-friendly solutions. A technical forum on waterborne wood coatings will be held in the conference room, featuring live demonstrations and interactive sessions. These activities aim to raise awareness about sustainable practices and promote the adoption of environmentally friendly materials. Overall, the 15th AIFME promises to be a dynamic and informative event, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and professionals from around the world. With its growing influence, expanding scale, and commitment to sustainability, AIFME continues to shape the future of the global furniture materials industry.
