The design by Xu Ting and Chen Yiming takes inspiration from their previous concept, "Jellyfish," but introduces a more dramatic and symbolic approach. This new vision is centered around the idea of "escape"—a massive helium balloon that floats above the city, carrying with it a series of observation decks. Suspended high above the smoggy streets, this structure transforms into a lush, hanging garden, offering a sanctuary for those suffocating from urban pollution. The elevated space provides not only a visual respite but also a physical one, allowing people to breathe in cleaner air and reconnect with nature. At the top of the balloon, solar panels are installed to generate clean energy for the entire platform, making the project self-sustaining. Additionally, a rainwater collection and purification system is integrated at the top, ensuring that the water can be used to nourish the plants below and even support the surrounding environment. This innovative design blends technology, sustainability, and aesthetics, offering a hopeful vision of how architecture can respond to environmental challenges.
