In an effort to further regulate drivers' behavior and enhance road safety, the Dongguan Traffic Police Department has officially revealed the locations of 14 new video surveillance cameras. Among these, 8 are located in the Dongcheng district, and the equipment was activated on the 15th of this month. These new monitoring points aim to reduce traffic violations and promote smoother flow on busy roads.
The eight new video surveillance systems in Dongcheng are strategically placed at high-traffic intersections, including areas near Zhushan, Ishii, New World Garden, the old TV station, Crow, Meicun, Donghai, and Yuhua schools. The coverage includes major roads such as Dongbao Road, Dongsheng Road, Dongcheng Middle Road, Dongcheng South Road, and Shijing Avenue. These cameras are designed to detect a range of violations, including illegal lane changes, random turns, and driving in the wrong direction.
At the intersection of Wanji Road, Longji Lake Road, and Ishii Avenue, there is a significant amount of residential and commercial activity, leading to heavy traffic and complex road conditions. This area has long been a hotspot for traffic violations. Local drivers have reported that since the installation of the new monitoring system, the overall traffic order has noticeably improved.
Another key location where the new cameras were installed is the junction of Dongcheng South Road and Dongcheng Middle Road, which is known for frequent congestion due to traffic violations. By adding more surveillance, authorities hope to prevent accidents and ensure smoother traffic movement.
Since May this year, Dongcheng has introduced a total of 17 new video surveillance capture points. These systems have already made a positive impact on managing traffic on major roads.
