On March 19th, the Zhengzhou National Patent Navigation Industry Development Experimental Zone Construction Promotion Conference took place in Zhengzhou, signaling the city’s commitment to building a unique "Diamond City" and a globally recognized "China Superhard Materials Industry Valley." This initiative marks a crucial milestone in the region’s industrial development strategy.
The conference was attended by high-level officials, including He Hua, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office; Lei Yunyun, Deputy Director of the Patent Management Department; Wang Yitao, President of the China Intellectual Property Office; Hu Wenhui, Director of the Henan Center of the Association; Xia Guohong, Deputy Director of the Beijing Center; and Guo Minsheng, Deputy Director of the Provincial Intellectual Property Office. Additionally, Wu Tianjun, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Ma Jian, Deputy Mayor, were present.
During the meeting, Lei Yiyun and Ma Jian shared updates on the project's progress and outlined future plans. A key highlight was the establishment of the Zhengzhou National Patent Navigation Expert Steering Committee, with Wu Tianjun presenting the certificate to He Hua, the committee’s chairman. He Hua also handed over the patent navigation map of the superhard materials industry to Wu Tianjun. Li Yinsuo, representing the State Intellectual Property Office, gave a speech emphasizing the importance of the experimental zone.
In his address, He Hua praised the progress made in the planning and construction of the experimental zone. He noted that the Zhengzhou New Materials Industry Cluster is one of the eight national patent navigation experimental zones and one of the three prioritized by the State Intellectual Property Office. As the first to launch a patent navigation planning project and hold a phased promotion meeting, the zone has become a model for other regions. The office will continue to support the zone's development, urging Zhengzhou to fully utilize the research outcomes, enhance the role of expert committees, and strengthen patent layout planning and market cultivation.
Wu Tianjun expressed appreciation for the State Intellectual Property Office's support. He emphasized that the construction of the national patent navigation experimental zone is a key move in implementing an innovation-driven strategy. It serves as a vital starting point for the development of intellectual property services, guiding both government and enterprise strategies. He called for a deeper understanding of the zone's importance, focusing on high-level planning, and accelerating its development.
He also stressed the need to achieve the "National First" goal through scientific planning, improve both patent application volume and conversion rates, build a fair and transparent market environment, and establish a world-class patent information service platform.
According to reports, last year, the National Patent Navigation Industry Development Experimental Zone was established in the city's new materials industry cluster area. To accelerate development, Zhengzhou and Fuyang cities formed a two-level leadership group to promote industrial planning, infrastructure, and technological innovation. Currently, the experimental zone has attracted 51 projects, including top 500 companies like SINOMACH, with investments exceeding 20 billion yuan.
