Among them, the burning source pollution in tile production has become the top priority in the ceramics industry's pollution control. The government departments are forcing the use of “natural gas” and ceramics companies’ concerns that “the use of natural gas will significantly increase the production costs and provide insufficient gas supply”. The biggest contradiction of “successful production” is that many ceramic companies prefer to stop production and wait for a turnaround. They are also reluctant to venture into natural gas and lay the hidden danger of stable production and survival in the future.

Recently, the "Energy Development Strategic Action Plan (2014-2020)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") issued by the General Office of the State Council has strategically deployed and planned coal combustion sources. From the "Planning", it can be seen that coal, as the main source of fuel for China's residents' life and industrial production, is still an important planning item in the national fuel source strategy. It is not an imperfect "forbidden use," but it is a potential clean energy source. In the national fuel strategy is focused on planning.

Coal will still make China the main source of fuel in the medium to long term

The "Plan" mentioned that by 2020, the total primary energy consumption is still 4.8 billion tons, the total coal consumption is 4.2 billion tons, and the proportion of coal consumption is 62%. The proportion of natural gas consumption is 10%. In the medium to long term, it is still the main source of fuel in our country, and the proportion of the total amount of coal consumed in the production of ceramics enterprises is small and within the scope of the central government's planning.

The country also promotes the use of clean coal

As the fuel source that the ceramic industry used for a long time, in the current trend of pollution prevention and environmental protection in the ceramics industry, the primary problem to be solved is “de-nitrification”. In response to this clean energy market, Kodak Company's energy-saving efforts were first placed on the clean use of coal for R&D and the launch of “clean coal technology and serial equipment” in the industry. In spite of its official announcement, the conversion rate of this technology from coal to coal is 90%, which is 13 to 15 percentage points higher than that of conventional coal. The annual coal consumption is about 500,000 tons, and the equivalent heating value of gas can be used. In fact, the clean use of coal is not without theoretical basis. In this "planning", the government proposed to "promote the development and utilization of clean and efficient coal," according to the principles of safety, green, intensive and efficient, accelerate the development of clean coal development and utilization technology, and continuously improve the level of clean and efficient development and utilization of coal. As a public ceramic company's call for clean coal technology allowed by the government, it is in line with the central government's plan to “transform the use of coal”.

"Planning" boosts natural gas increments, but insufficient gas supply is still a fatal problem for pottery enterprises.

The use of natural gas in tile production in the ceramics industry has been pushed by the government for reducing CO2 emissions, but its performance in reducing nitrogen oxides needs to be improved. The use of natural gas to increase the cost of ceramic tile production and environmental protection benefits will not be discussed. Since China's natural gas mainly depends on imports, “supply of gas” is bound to become a fatal hidden danger of ceramic companies using natural gas. The "plan" pointed out that at the end of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, it is necessary to achieve an annual output of 185 billion cubic meters of conventional natural gas. Obviously, for the ceramic industry with a large demand for fuel, there are indeed fatal hidden dangers of insufficient gas supply to maintain normal production.

According to official data, on December 12, the sales price index of thermal coal in South China was 559.23/ton. Correspondingly, the trend of natural gas price increases is obvious. The country is promoting the development of clean coal utilization. In the future, will ceramic enterprises be "accepted" by burning coal?
