Carburized bearing steel

Carburized bearing steel grades, their chemical compositions, mechanical properties, and main applications are essential for selecting the right material for specific engineering needs. These steels are commonly used in bearings that require high strength, toughness, and wear resistance, especially under impact loads. Below is a detailed table of carburized bearing steel grades along with their chemical composition: | Brand | C | Si | Mn | Cr | Ni | Mo | Cu | P | S | |---------------|---------|---------|---------|---------|---------|---------|---------|---------|---------| | G20CrMo | 0.17~0.23 | 0.20~0.35 | 0.65~0.95 | 0.35~0.65 | - | 0.08~0.15 | 0.25 | 0.030 | 0.030 | | C20CrNiMo | 0.15~0.40 | 0.60~0.90 | 0.40~0.70 | 0.15~0.30 | - | - | - | - | - | | G20CrNi2Mo | 0.40~0.70 | 1.60~2.00 | 0.20~0.30 | - | - | - | - | - | - | | G20Cr2Ni4 | 0.30~0.60 | 1.25~1.75 | 3.25~3.75 | - | - | - | - | - | - | | G10CrNi3Mo | 0.08~0.13 | 0.40~0.70 | 1.00~1.40 | 3.00~3.50 | 0.08~0.15 | - | - | - | - | | G20Cr2Mn2Mo | 0.17~0.23 | 1.30~1.60 | 1.70~2.00 | ≤0.30 | 0.20~0.30 | - | - | - | - | The following table provides the longitudinal mechanical properties of carburized bearing steel: | Brand | Sample Diameter (mm) | Quenching Temp (°C) | Tempering Temp (°C) | Quenching Medium | Tensile Strength (MPa) | Elongation (%) | Section Shrinkage (%) | Impact Toughness (kJ/m²) | |---------------|----------------------|----------------------|----------------------|------------------|------------------------|----------------|-----------------------|--------------------------| | G20CrNiMo | 15 | 880±20 | 790±20 | Oil | 1175 | 9 | 45 | 800 | | G20CrNi2Mo | 25 | 800±20 | 980 | Air | 1175 | 13 | - | - | | G20Cr2Ni4 | - | 870±20 | 790±20 | Oil | 1175 | 10 | - | - | | G10CrNi3Mo | 15 | 880±20 | 180~200 | Air | 1080 | 9 | - | - | | G20Cr2Mn2Mo | - | 810±20 | 1275 | Air | 1175 | 40 | - | 700 | **Notes:** 1. The mechanical properties of G20CrMo are for reference only. 2. The listed mechanical properties apply to steels with a cross-sectional dimension of up to 80 mm. For sizes between 81–100 mm, elongation, shrinkage, and impact toughness may decrease by 1, 5, and 5%, respectively. For 101–150 mm, these values may decrease by 2, 10, and 10%. For 151–250 mm, they may decrease by 3, 15, and 15%. 3. If the steel size exceeds 80 mm, samples of 70–80 mm must meet the requirements specified in the table. 4. Delivery condition: Hot-rolled or forged steel is delivered in hot-rolled (forged) condition or annealed. Cold-drawn steel should be delivered in an annealed or tempered condition. For annealed delivery, the hardness of G20Cr2Ni4(A) should not exceed 241, and other grades should not exceed 29. **Applications of Carburized Bearing Steel:** | Brand | Application Examples | |---------------|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | G20CrMo | Used for bearing rings and rolling elements in automotive and tractor applications under impact loads. | | G20CrNiMo | Suitable for bearing components in vehicles and tractors subjected to impact forces. | | G20CrNi2Mo | Ideal for high-impact bearings such as engine main bearings. | | G20Cr2Ni4 | Applied in large-scale bearings like those in rolling mills and mining machinery, and also in small-to-medium bearings requiring high safety. | | G10CrNi3Mo | Designed for large and medium-sized bearings under heavy impact conditions. | | G20Cr2Mn2Mo | Used in high-impact bearings for industrial equipment and also in smaller bearings requiring high reliability. This grade is adapted to China’s resource characteristics. | For more information on carburized bearing steels and their applications, visit [ChinaWJ.com.cn](http://news.chinawj.com.cn).
