After several major revisions of the national standards for steel drums in our country, great progress has been made, and the diameter series of steel drums have also been brought up to the national standard. However, seeking truth from facts, our national standards have always failed to keep up with the trend and level of the world, and even the international standards at that time could not catch up. why? Summarized in one sentence is: thinking is not liberated! The idea of ​​maintaining the status quo occupies the mind of the standard revisionists, and therefore, it has created a chaotic situation in the domestic steel barrel industry.
Since the reform and opening up, especially after the accession to the WTO in recent years, the international economic exchanges have become more frequent. As a product of steel drums, more and more products have gone abroad. However, due to the congenitally deficient structure of China's standard steel barrels, it is impossible to meet the requirements of international packaging and transportation, and exporters and steel drum manufacturers are in a dilemma. The contradiction in product structure is mainly manifested in two aspects:
On the one hand, the diameter of the barrel of the national standard 200-liter steel drum complies with the ISO diameter standard (φ560mm), but it ignores the actual outer diameter of the steel drum because the diameters of the two large ring ribs on the steel barrel are much larger than The barrel diameter (φ588mm) of steel barrels, so when the steel barrels are transported into a container, the actual occupied space diameter is φ588mm instead of φ560mm, which cannot be said to be an omission of the standard revision. As a result, when the steel drums entered the container, they could have been placed in four rows. However, due to the large diameter, only three rows can be placed, which in turn wastes a lot of container space. Exporters are absolutely not allowed.
On the other hand, it is a national standard for the problem of residues in the steel drum. Since the flat top structure of the drum top has not changed for decades, when the steel drum is poured out of the contents liquid, some will not come out. This situation not only wastes the contents, but also causes troubles for the recycling of steel drums, and it is also not conducive to environmental protection. As early as the amendment of the new national standards, the international standards for ISO steel barrels have been formulated and the problem has been solved. However, the new national standards are simply ignored and ignored. As a result, the status quo of standards has been seriously lagging behind.
Due to the existence of the above problems in national standards, today's more and more frequent foreign economic activities in our country are increasingly out of place. Many domestic manufacturers of barrels have made different demands in order to meet the needs of their customers in order to survive their business and make steel drums according to their requirements. As a result, international standard steel drums began to settle in China and become the new darling of exporters. This is an inevitable development process. The current popularity of European standard barrels in China is the biggest impact on China's national standards, and it also illustrates the serious backwardness of the national standards for steel barrels. However, this situation is only a transitional stage. The final direction of development should be ISO international standard steel barrels. Whether you like it or not, you must eventually go this way. This is a trend that no one can stop. Because we live in the world, China can no longer be reconciled as it was decades ago. Since we must be open, our product standards should not be "self-reliance", let alone our standards are still lagging behind.
At present, the international standards for steel drums used in China, in addition to the fact that cone-shaped drums have been widely used, ISO container drums have begun to be widely used and have been widely welcomed by exporters.
The ISO container steel drum was introduced from Europe. It was first promoted by the Italian company GMI in the country. Because of its structural type, it improved the unreasonable use of the national standard steel drum during transportation, so it was recognized by most users. At present, it has been widely used in the coastal areas of China and in East China.
Container-specific steel drums are based on the size of international standard steel drums and undergo scientific modification of the steel rims. Its main feature is that the ring ribs on the barrel are immersed in the barrel as a whole. That is, in the case where the height of the ridge tendons of the barrel does not decrease, an annular groove recessed inward is created at the portion where the rim is connected to the barrel. The maximum diameter of the top of the rim is 5mm smaller than the original standard, the outer diameter of the rim of the original national standard steel drum is φ585mm, and the outer diameter of the ring steel of the container steel drum is φ575mm. As a result, the maximum diameter of the steel drum is 10mm smaller than that of the national standard steel drum. Do not underestimate this 10mm. In container transportation, this type of steel drum can maximize space utilization and achieve the most economical transportation costs.
Because the cross-sectional shape of the ring tendons is like "W," it is often called the W-type ring barrel in the domestic barrel making industry. The ring reinforcement not only reduces the maximum diameter of the steel barrel, but also enhances the strength of the barrel body and also makes the shape of the barrel body more beautiful. In foreign countries, most container steel drums have eliminated ripples on the barrels, making the barrels more beautiful.
In addition, the common national standard steel drums are mainly used in the following drawbacks: the ring diameter of steel drums is larger than the curled edge of both ends of the steel drums. In this way, when the steel drums are transported, loaded and unloaded and used, the steel ring's ring tendons will be the weakest. As a result, the paint film is often damaged or the bump deformed. The use of the "W" rib structure not only increases the strength of the steel barrel barrel, but also the ring ribs are no longer weak links, which protects the overall appearance and resistance to collision of the steel barrel.
Also, the international standard diameter steel drums are favorable for export and can be accepted by users all over the world. In foreign countries, great importance is attached to the recycling and reuse of steel drums. In developed countries, old drum retreading production lines with high degree of automation are used to refurbish and reuse old steel drums. The general steel drums must be recycled and reused for 2 to 3 times. of. This requires that the specifications and dimensions of the steel drums are the same, otherwise they cannot be repaired on the fully automatic production line. This is one of the reasons why China's national standard steel drums are not popular abroad.
ISO container steel barrel structure:
The ISO container steel drums were formed from the merger of the European "W" ribbed steel drums of the ISO international standard steel drums. That is, the basic dimensions of steel drums adopt ISO international standard steel drums, which are mainly packaged in diameter and barrel height. And there is no ring reinforcement structure using ISO international standard steel drums. At present, domestic steel drums adopt this structure, mainly due to the following points:
1, ISO international standard steel barrels (as shown in Figure 1), the standard top of the barrel can be flat or arched structure can be. The arched structure is designed to reduce the residue of the contents, that is to say, the structure can be in the lowest position when the steel drum is overturned to dump the content liquid, so the contents can be poured cleanly. In the current domestic and international liquid handling, this method has not been used to dump the liquid. Instead, suction is used. Therefore, the arch of the top of the barrel is not necessary. In recent years, most countries in the world have begun to use the top of the flat-topped structure, so the top of the arched barrel has not been promoted in China.
2. The “W” ribs steel drums originating from GMI of Italy were named “Container Steel Drums” when they entered China, which mainly solved the problem of container space occupation of international standard steel drums. It has been widely accepted at home and abroad. Its main structure and dimensions are shown in Figure 2.
