Flatness Test:
To evaluate the flatness of a surface, a steel ruler with a straightness tolerance of 0.1 mm is placed naturally along the two diagonal lines of the surface being tested. A feeler gauge or vernier caliper is then used to measure the gap between the ruler and the surface. The maximum gap measured determines the flatness of the sheet, and the measurement is accurate to 0.1 mm.
Angle Inspection:
A 90-degree steel square, with an internal angle perpendicularity tolerance of 0.13 mm and dimensions of 500 mm x 400 mm, is used for this inspection. The short side of the square is aligned with the short edge of the sheet, while the long side is placed against the long edge of the sheet. The maximum gap between the long edge of the sheet and the square is measured using a feeler gauge or vernier caliper. If the sheet’s long side is less than or equal to 500 mm, any pair of diagonals can be measured. However, if the long side exceeds 500 mm, all four corners must be checked. The angular tolerance is determined by the largest measured gap, which is also accurate to 0.1 mm.
Appearance Quality Inspection:
1. To check the pattern tone, the inspected plate is placed on the ground, and visual inspection is performed from a distance of 1.5 meters. 2. The flatness of the plate is manually checked by placing it on the ground, followed by a visual inspection at 1.5 meters away. 3. The number of color lines corresponds directly to the number of visible lines on the surface. 4. For notches and chipping, the length, width, and depth of each defect are measured using a vernier caliper. The number of missing corners is assessed visually. 5. The height of steps is measured using a vernier caliper, with the maximum value recorded as the step height. 6. Visible cracks are identified through visual inspection, while hidden cracks are detected by tapping the sheet with a metal hammer and listening for unusual sounds that may indicate damage. 7. Stains are measured in size using a vernier caliper, and their quantity is counted based on the wood book reference.
